NSMH Scholarships

Your hospitality career starts with opportunity.

Through the support of NSMH Platinum and Industry Partners, NSMH awards scholarships each year to current members pursuing higher education in hospitality or a related field. These scholarships help students move closer to their educational, professional, and career goals.

Applications for the 2026–2027 scholarship cycle are due by December 31, 2026. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2027–2028 academic year and distributed in August 2027.

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a current NSMH member
• Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university
• Be pursuing hospitality or a related field

Applicants should be prepared to submit:

• A list of extracurricular activities, including leadership positions
• A list of honors and awards
• An unofficial transcript
• (An official transcript will be required before a scholarship is awarded.)
• A current résumé
• At least one letter of recommendation, with a maximum of three
• A 250–500-word essay addressing the following questions:
• Why are you interested in the hospitality industry?
• What strengths and experiences will help you succeed?
• How do your educational and career goals connect to your future plans?

NSMH scholarships help support the educational and career goals of aspiring hospitality professionals. Apply by December 31, 2026.
